New telephones have been installed at Davis and Gideon Elementary Schools.

New switches and telephones are scheduled for installation at these campuses this spring:

Brown

Morris

Tarver-Rendon

Boren

Ponder

Anderson

Harmon

Following this upgrade, each school in the district will have Cisco VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) telephones. This upgrade will result in cost savings due to the retirement of analog lines, and it will provide users with an enhanced feature set that includes voicemail. The project will continue through mid-March 2010.

    • Thanks for the feedback. After the network upgrades are complete and the district has replaced all of its existing Nortel phones with the new Cisco VOIP models, we may be in a position to reevaluate the district standard. The installation of basic wireless access district wide and a more reliable infrastructure may provide us with other options for providing telephone service to the classrooms, too. Please stay tuned.
