We can celebrate a milestone today . . .

New Promethean boards have been installed at all Phase I campuses.

There are still boards that have been pulled from some campuses for repurposing that have not been placed yet but will be prior to the beginning of the school year.

The installation of projector systems at the secondary campuses continues. T. A. Howard will be complete tomorrow. Another crew is working at Cross Timbers. The project will move to Summit High School on Friday.

    • Thanks for the gold star! With such dedicated technicians and specialists in the Technology Development Department, forward thinking leadership of our district, ongoing cooperation among departments, and sustained commitment to developing new skills among our teachers and staff members, we think it’s shaping up to be a great year!

Any news on Wester’s progress? I know it was one of the campus’ that needed electrical work done. Will we have any upgrades prior to the school year beginning?
    Thanks.

    • The good news is that the electrical work required is less extensive than we thought it might be. MISD Maintenance has done a great job of assessing the District’s needs in this area. We should have more information to share about this on Wednesday of next week.

Do you know when Phase II will begin? I’m so excited that we will be receiving this technology! Thanks! :0)

    • No, we’re not sure when Phase II will begin in terms of installation. However, Mary Lemons and the planning team have conducted walk-throughs at MHS and THS already.

Do you project that Phase II may be completed before the end of the upcoming school year? I am working on my Action Research Study for grad school and I am wondering if the use of this technology would be a possibility for research on my campus.

Just wondering if the boards and projectors were installed in the portables at JL Boren. All 4th grade classes are in portables and we are excited about receiving the technology upgrade:)

    • The projector system and Promethean board installations are taking place at different campuses. Now that the installations of boards are complete within the elementary school buildings, the projector system installers can begin their work at those campuses once they finish the Phase I secondary campuses. Portables or temporary buildings that house eligible classes will be equipped with Promethean boards, most of which will be repurposed from other classrooms in the District.

I’ve been up to school this week to see the boards! I’m so excited to have this resource in my room! My teacher-friends from other districts are so jealous! Can’t wait to start using it every day 🙂
