Important: Now use to get your MISD mail

Please begin using the Exchange system to send and receive email. All new mail from outside the District is now being routed to your new Exchange account, which you may access using this site:

Login using the following convention:

Username: (FirstnameLastname). If you’re not sure which name was used to create your account, try your preferred one first . . . we’ve attempted to remember or anticipate your preferences.

Password: (Employee ID Number)

Your employee ID number is on your direct deposit slip.

These are the two phases to the migration progress.

Phase I

During this phase, the Department copies all existing messages, calendar items, and address groups to the Exchange system and your new account.

This is an automated process that is complete for all campuses and many departments. Once this phase is complete, all email from outside the District is routed to the new Exchange account and not to the old GroupWise account. We will be working on the remaining departments during the next few days. Especially large accounts take an especially long time to copy.

Phase II

Technology Development staff members visit your computer to install and/or configure Microsoft Outlook on your computer, which is part of the Microsoft Office suite. The desktop version of Outlook offers some features that Outlook Web Access (OWA) does not. The goal is to get this installed on all staff computers prior to the beginning of the school year.

Computers that can run Office 2007 will be upgraded to it at this time. A minimum of 512 MB of RAM is required; it doesn’t run well without at least one GB.

If your computer cannot run either Office 2007 or Office 2003, you will need to continue to access your email and calendar using Outlook Web Access (OWA), which involves logging into, indefinitely.

Tip Sheets

There are tip sheets for Outlook 2007 and 2003 in the Knowledge Base section of Eduphoria. We will also work on getting those posted on the intranet for you. Our licensing for these products don’t allow us to post them somewhere that allows access from outside the district without a password. Update: These tip sheets are available from within the District at

Is this new email system working yet? I’ve tried following the directions above, and keep getting the message “incorrect username or password.” I’ve typed my name several ways (w/ and w/o caps, w/ and w/o space) and I’ve got the empl ID #. Any suggestions as to how else to get into my mailbox? Thanks!
(I’ve typed in my personal email account, so I can hopefully find your answer!)

    • As of this morning, the system appears to be working.

The convention for your username is firstnamelastname. It’s not case sensitive. Your employee ID number is your password, which you can get from AESOP or Eduphoria. Please contact the Help Desk at 4357 if you continue to experience difficulty. We’re here to help you. 🙂

Can I assume that any mail in the old account has been lost or deleted? If not, how can I retrieve it?

    August 5, 2010
    • No, email in your old account has not been lost or deleted. It has been migrated to your new account. You may access it using the web site. If you encounter any problems, please contact the Help Desk at 817.299.4357.

I would like to ask about the formal, unused names, that myself and many others do not use and are not known by that are being used for our email system. Is there any way to change that to the actual name that I am known as vs. having a name that no one uses?

I know I am not the only one with this situation, and if legal issues are a concern, it is well documented that I have done business as Debby vs. the formal name I do not use for email correspondence. I would also sign any documentation needed. I have worked for other districts and was known as debby.reiling on email with no concerns.

    Thank you,
    Debby Reiling

    • We do have a process for adding aliases to accounts so that the preferred form of a user’s name appears when messages are sent. The policy within the District in the past has been that if one uses a form of his or her real name, the alternative form can be used. The focus up to this point has been making sure that the system functions and assisting users with login and password issues. Please access and key in a work order so that the team can respond to your request as quickly as possible.
