Extreme Makeover Progress Report

Projector installation at Jobe Middle School and Low Intermediate School is scheduled to begin this week.  Jobe, Low, and Perry Elementary were moved up in the schedule in order make presentation carts available for repurposing in Phase I and Phase II band, choir, and consumer science classrooms.

Repurposed computers are ready for delivery at Elizabeth Smith Elementary, Cora Spencer Elementary, and AEC. Principals and secretaries at those campuses will be contacted to schedule these deliveries.

Using the Safari Montage system and an encoder, a campus can stream live video over the network. Schools in other districts have used this feature for training and staff development purposes. Later today, our network team will receive training on how to configure this equipment. Pilot campuses include Glenn Harmon, Tarver-Rendon, and Elizabeth Smith Elementaries.

MISD Promethean ActivAcademy training will begin in early February. This training on Promethean equipment will be a half day in length and feature a 50/50 blend of instruction and application. Participants will return with flipcharts to use in their classrooms. Stay tuned for more details about the registration process.
