MISD STaR Chart Results: Another Reason to be Thankful!
Each year, MISD teachers take the School Technology and Readiness (STaR) Chart Survey as required by the Texas Education Agency and the federal No Child Left Behind Act.
Teachers rate their own skills, the people they work with, and the technology tools that they have available to them, in four “Key Areas.” These include Teaching and Learning; Educator Preparation and Development; Leadership, Administration, and Instructional Support; and Infrastructure for Technology.
Teacher responses are averaged and used to assign “Key Area Ratings,” which include Early Tech, Developing Tech, Advanced Tech, and Target Tech.
This year, we’re especially excited about MISD’s STaR Chart results. We hope you are, too!
Since the 2009-2010 school year, MISD has . . .
- shown 2-3 points growth in every Key Area.
- progressed from “Developing Tech” to “Advanced Tech” ratings in three of the four Key Areas.
- achieved “Advanced Tech” ratings in all four Key Areas.
There’s still work to do, but we thought you’d enjoy knowing that we’ve reached this milestone as a district.
On our team, we are thankful that we work with such a committed group of teachers and administrators! When great teachers get great tools, great things happen!
