How do I change my MISD Active Directory password?

It’s easy!

Login to any MISD computer using your personal username and password .

Hold down the CTRL key and hit the ALT and DEL keys.

Click “Change a Password.”

Follow the directions on the screen.

Remember that in order to keep sending and receiving email on your smart phone,  you’ll need to change your email password settings on that phone, too.

    With the new password, are we still going to be required to change it every 45 days?

    • Yes. We’ve been advised by our auditors to make our passwords more complex and to maintain the same schedule for resetting them.

    I understand you cannot use punctuation but can you use a symbol such as a dollar sign when changing to a more complex password?

    • A dollar sign is considered a special symbol, too. The reason that we don’t want special symbols used for passwords is because we use the same ones for many applications now, such as SAFARI Montage and Eduphoria. Some of these other programs don’t support special characters as passwords, so creating a password that uses them would create problems with logging in.
