MHS Deployment to Kick-Off September 4

The PowerUp! iPad deployment process will begin on September 4 at Mansfield High School.

Complete the items on the Student Checklist htpp://edtech.mansfieldisd.org to secure your iPass.

You will experience delays and  frustration if you don’t know your iTunes and MISD usernames and passwords. Bring them with you to your iPad setup session.

    I attended the first iPad info mtg, and it was recommended we wait to sign up for the additional insurance, because the District was still working out details with coverage. Has that been worked out?

    • Yes. An MISD parent had talked to a new employee of the company not familiar with our plan. We got it all worked out.

  2. Thank you for your question. This depends on your plan. If she’s just connecting using a wireless router at home that you have through the company that provides your home telephone or TV service, there is likely no additional charge based on the amount of data you download. If you get access through your mobile provider, there is greater potential for additional charges. Please contact your service providers for more information about your plans.

    I tried to sign up for the Supplemental Insurance online last night & was not able to get it to go through. I spoke with a rep from the Insurance Company this morning & did enroll, but you should know 2 things:

    1) the link showed $45 for a $0 deductible not $47.
    2) the rep first told me the policy only covered theft for $25. When I read to her what was listed on the MISD iPad use policy (accidental damage, theft, fire/flood, natural disasters, vandalism, power surge due to lightning, both off & on school grounds), she looked again and found it. I worry that all parents are not getting the correct information.

    • Thank you for the feedback. I’ll forward your comments to our Risk Management Department so that they can address them with the insurance company. The information that is posted was provided by the insurance company.

    • More details related to your questions:

      1.) I’m told that the difference of $2.00 between the $47 posted online and the $45 that you discussed over the phone represents a processing charge.

      2.) Some staff members at Worth Street Group are less familiar with the policy offered to MISD parents than others. We’ve shared feedback from MISD parents with the company, and they have said that they will address this with their customer service representatives.
