One to one, or one to the world?

The term 1:1 is often used in education to describe the ratio of devices to students in a school setting.

Educational technology researcher Alan November asserts that it is more powerful to describe such initiatives in terms of the resources that they make available to each participant. The chart below illustrates new ways to think about our own Power Up! Initiative.

In the coming weeks, we’ll post some accounts about how teachers and students are transforming education in many of the ways that Dr. November advocates.

Special thanks to Marie Medina, Coordinator of MISD’s ACCEL Gifted and Talented Program, for sharing this chart!
