LEGO Publishes Article about MISD Robotics

Welcome back!

During the break, LEGO published a case study about the 2012-2013 expansion of robotics in Mansfield ISD.

This article features pictures of Roberta Tipps Elementary students and a quote from Debbie Clark, Technology Applications teacher at Willie Brown Elementary.

The two high school robotics teams whose mentoring roles are mentioned are the Fighting Pickles and the Crusading Cucumbers of Ben Barber Career Tech Academy.

MISD Educational Technology Trainer Ashley Coffman wrote a $10,000 MISD Education Foundation Grant and a $40,000 matching grant to LEGO Robotics. “It’s been rewarding to see the growth of robotics in MISD this year. The kids who are involved really love it and learn so much about math, science, problem-solving, and teamwork!” she said.
